elevator ride
From 19.00 hrs it becomes extra interesting to take a ride in one of our two elevators. For Touch takes over the sounds in them. Featuring audio works by Oren Ambarchi, Biosphere, Fennesz, Ryoji Ikeda, Philip Jeck, BJNilsen, Rosy Parlane, Chris Watson & others. Mike Harding draws extensively from the Touch catalogue to celebrate the label's 25th anniversary.

Oorbeek
At 20.30 hrs Oorbeek, who played at both Consortium and Lloyd Hotel on previous occassions, will play. They are a seven man band of musicians/artists, whose latest motto is 'Oorbeek plays truly-happened music'.

Chris Watson
After Oorbeek we will move to the neighbours, KHL (Koffiehuis Hollandsche Lloyd), to listen to Chris Watson with two live surround sound mixes of 20 minutes each: 'The Sound of Sanctuary' and 'Midnight at the Oasis'. Chris Watson was one of the founders of the very influential band Cabaret Voltaire. He is currently seen as the world's no. 1 field recordist. He works for the BBC, doing the sound recordings for the documentaries of Sir Richard Attenborough, and he makes unique records on Touch.
Watson is seldom available for live concerts.

'Midnight at the Oasis'
The Kalahari desert is one of the most beautiful and hostile environments on earth where over 85% of the wildlife is nocturnal. After sunset the dunes, grasses and thorn scrub are patrolled by an unseen alien empire - the insects. 'Midnight at the Oasis', is an after dark soundscape, a live surround sound mix, a 20 minute time compression from sunset to sunrise recorded on location in South Africa's Kalahari desert. Within the
comfort of KHL the listener will be transported and then immersed within the unique and delicate nocturnal music of a landscape we rarely tune in to.

Ron Wright
Ron Wright (ex Hula) will perform a 30 minute live surround sound mix, 'Spindrift'. In the 1980s Ron Wright was a core member of experimental band Hula, from Sheffield, UK. Together with Andy Eccleston he now produces autonomous work, next to his compositions for cult-films.
'Spindrift' is an audiovisual interpretation of a journey through the insides of musical instruments. A series of 110 slides captured with scientific imaging techniques slowly melt and merge in time to reveal the hidden textures and colours that are formed within
the instruments as they are played.
