One of the Dutch novels of the last decade which appeared in a multitude of foreign languages is 'The Passion Fruit' by Karel Glastra van Loon.
The novel is about the search of a man who discovers he is not the father of his son. At the occassion of Amsterdam World Book Capital, an epithet given to the Dutch capital by UNESCO for the period april 2008 - april 2009, international guests of Lloyd Hotel will read from 'The Passion Fruit'.

For A Bookie with a Cookie the Cultural Embassy was given use of most of the translations, by the Foundation for the Production and Translation of Dutch Literature.
