From 1964 until 1989 Lloyd Hotel served as the first experiment with youth detention. Martin van der Heiden was one of the group leaders from 1972 onwards, and later became head of the group service. His career at the Lloyd detention centre for juveniles spanned 16 years. Around 1985 he made a photo series of his work surroundings. A selection of 80 pictures has now been added to the Lloyd History exhibition.
Digging up the Lloyd history has led to the book 'Lloyd Hotel' by Annete Lubbers (publisher Bas Lubberhuizen, 2004), the documentary 'Lloyd Hotel, history of a building' by Micaela van Rijckevorsel and Jeroen Visser (2005), and a rich found of pictures, documents, texts and objects, all of them gathered in the exhibition.

The Lloyd History Exhibition is a permanent feature of Lloyd Hotel.
