Stay in Bed

Some guests of Lloyd Hotel will sleep beneath bed linen designed by Viola Renate (Sandberg Institute). She designed this for the Temporary Museum Amsterdam, the side-programme of the yearly art fair Art Amsterdam.
Renate uses her design to reflect on current global issues and thus updates John Lennon and Yoko Ono's action of 40 years ago. On the bed linen are graffiti statements, like 'I stay in bed to save the planet', or 'I stay in bed to reduce my waste'. According to John Lennon a sense of humour is an important weapon against violence. Their Bed-In for Peace was a simple and positive action.

A number of rooms will have Viola Renate's bed linen.
