Men's Fashion from the Sociaalkaufhaus
Inspired by a saying of artist Louise Bourgeois, 'I Do. I Undo. I Redo', the young designer collective Steinbeisser experimented with discarded clothing in order to boost its untapped potential. Their 'reconstructed' fashion is based on garments by designers like Ralph Lauren, Ermenegildo Zegna, and clothes makers like Lanificio del Casentino and C&A.They chose clothes from 100% Virgin wool, or wol blends containing silk or cashmere. The result is a unique edition of men’s fashion with personality.
During the Easter Weekend the Steinbeisser collection will be shown in a performance by actor Johannes Frick, combined with contemporary jewellery by Adam Grinovich.
‘I Do. I Undo. I Redo’ is the first of a series of events around contemporary fashion and jewellery that Steinbeisser is organizing at the Lloyd Hotel.
It is the continuation of our collaboration in 2011, when Steinbeisser had a three-months series in the hotel, including a retrospective of a decade of shoe design by Kei Kagami.
Steinbeisser has an extensive international network of mostly young designers, with whom they create fresh and remarkable projects outside the conventional framework of galleries. Their expertise and devotion are appealing to designers and to an ever-growing audience.
