Servus is an orchestra devoted to playing gypsy music since its foundation in 1987. On their play list are tunes from Hungary and Rumania, to which they added some compositions of their own, and some Russian, Yiddish and Yugoslav songs. In the countries of its origin this music is traditionally being played in restaurants and at parties.

The musicians of Servus come from members of the student gypsy orchestras at Utrecht, Delft and Wageningen University, who did not want to give up playing after their graduation. Blending the three cultures proved very successful. Over the years Servus started playing with the Rumanian singer Elena Zamfira and the violinist Nello Mirando.
