Posters Gielijn Escher at Museum Boymans van Beuningen

Until the end of September the exhibition 'Gielijn Escher, een leven voor affiches' is at Museum Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam.

Included in this exhibition is the poster 'Applaus voor de Klapstoel'  which Escher designed by hand for the similarly called show in Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy in 2010.

The exhibition celebrates Graphic Designer Gielijn Escher's 50 years of poster designer and collectioner. Boijmans van Beuningen presents a combined overview of Escher's posters by himself and from his collection.
Escher's commissioners come mostly from the cultural field. Well-known are his posters for the Shaffy Theater, Dance group Krisztina de Châtel and the Festival of Fools. In 1978 he was awarded the H.N. Werkmanprijs and in 1997 the Prins Bernhard Fonds Prijs for Applied Arts and Architecture.
