Frost in the Netherlands invokes a typically Dutch type of fever. Committees assemble, sport shops extend their opening hours to cope with the sudden crowds, media report on the exact state of growth of the ice-layer on ditches, canals and lakes.  One question hovers over the nation: when shall we be able to skate on the ice?
