Publieke sessie van leesgroep PLUG, die tot doel heeft het bewustzijn van representaties van raciale stereotypen in de media te vergroten.

PLUG is an initiatief van Bel Parnell-Berry & Egbert Martina

Voertaal van deze avond is Engels

The main objective of this reading group session will be to instigate an aesthetic analysis of how and when racialised bodies become edible bodies.
How do characters perpetuated in the media embody an edible state? How far is it arguable that this ‘edible state’ of the Other fulfils the nourishment and consumption of an audience? From this session, the organisers hope that participants will appreciate a more critical observation of the media and also that PLUG can contribute in a meaningful manner.

‘Eating the other’ by Bell Hooks
